Homemade Skin Mask

The global economic downturn has affected the lives of many people worldwide who are trying to curb expenses by cutting down on purchases. Since most off-the-shelf beauty products are deemed expensive, it is a good option to pamper oneself at home with homemade face masks.

It is extremely easy and cost efficient to prepare skin masks at home using natural ingredients like fruits, yogurt, honey and milk. A simple avocado skin mask suits all skin types and can be prepared by mashing a ripe avocado with honey. This is to be applied to the face and rinsed after twenty minutes for glowing skin.

Fresh unflavored yogurt is by itself a great homemade skin mask for dry skin. It can be combined with pulp of fruits such as strawberry or mango which make skin soft and fresh.

Fuller's earth can be mixed with 100% orange juice and used as a homemade skin mask for oily skin. This mask also helps to tighten the skin and shrink enlarged pores. Single ingredient masks like beaten egg white and oatmeal are also great for oily, pimple prone skin.

It is a good idea to scrub the skin in order to remove dead cells before applying facial masks. Equal proportions of sugar and honey with a drop or two of olive oil can be used as a face scrub. Olive oil can be avoided if the skin being treated is oily.

Preparing and using homemade face masks is a fun thing to do at slumber parties. Since fresh and natural ingredients are used, there is no harm to the skin. Homemade face masks are a great idea to curb beauty related expenses and flaunt flawless skin at the same time.
